Lyrics: In a new town for the very first time I never walked around this corner Strangers passing by Look into my eyes They don’t know Know that I’m starting Oh that I’m starting Oh that I’m starting over Oh would you let me be A little more like me Took so long to see What is good for me In this new place I’m feeling alive A little stronger and older All my mistakes I’ve left them behind in a place you won’t find them Every sidewalk is a new step Strangers passing by Look into my eyes They don’t know Know that I’m starting Oh that I’m starting Oh that I’m starting over Oh would you let me be A little more like me Took so long to see What is good for me

LYRICS: Right now We’re slowly goin down And it’s not like a secret But you don’t wanna see it Maybe there’s another version round the corner Maybe we should hold on for a little longer You’ll be lookin back You’ll be lookin back on me You’ll be lookin back You’ll be lookin back fondly I’m gonna look at you Like we did in December I’m gonna look at you Like the way we remember Above Everything we’ve spoken of Coming down in a drizzle Hitting us like a chisel Maybe it’s the kinda thing that makes us stronger Maybe we should hold on for a little longer You’ll be lookin back You’ll be lookin back on me You’ll be lookin back You’ll be lookin back fondly I’m gonna look at you Like we did in December I’m gonna look at you Like the way we remember

Oh, something is in the air tonight As we sit and watch the cars go by You tell me it was stupid when The other kids made fun of another friend We won’t be like that We won’t be like that On a roof in the night Under the stars Talking about the questions on our minds Talking about our lives How it gets hard And how we’re always gonna try You and I We’re gonna do something good Cuz this world is too crazy and I won’t let it take us Oh, tell me what your mother said Is she getting to your head again? The struggle with our parents never ends On a roof in the night Under the stars Talking about the questions on our minds Talking about our lives How it gets hard And how we’re always gonna try You and I We’re gonna do something good Cuz this world is too crazy and I won’t let it take us

Lyrics: Something hits me suddenly the windshield’s swept with rain upon the glass State to state it’s you and me and all the little things we like to keep Up ahead the sun is setting out of view I know somewhere somebody’s waking up to something new I feel like a bandit driving through the night Driving through the night Forget every place I’ve place I’ve been, there’s nothing like the way you hold my hand In a bit let’s make a stop, I’m happy to explore this town with you Up ahead the sun is setting out of view I know somewhere somebody’s waking up to something new I feel like a bandit driving through the night Driving through the night (with you) Oh I suddenly know It wouldn’t be a crime if I told you I feel like a bandit driving through the night Driving through the night (with you)

Lyrics: Seems I’m in no hurry yet to get where I’m going so I might as well enjoy this ride A scene sandwiched in between the same frames window and that always looking over me sky Even though you’ve been through hell you can’t quite now you’v gotta go pick yourself up and get a move on Tell me what you’re waiting for a day a week another year another year another year gone I’ve seen waste arise from haste and I will not create that case so I’m taking my time Buildings and trees stationary streamed along the way I’m going rolling wheels radio on

Lyrics: I’ve known for months just what I would wear I stitched it all up and I added some flare Well you’re lookin good in your make-up and hair Yeah you’re lookin good with just enough scare Meet me by the bonfire (Where the kids are swayin) x2 Meet me by the bonfire The cold night air can’t get us there I’m not so scared when I got you near Hiding in hay and making you scream Smiling with fangs and wearing some wings What if we jumped off the wagon on three? What if we stared at your face in the mirror? Meet me by the bonfire (Where the kids are playin) x2 Meet me by the bonfire The cold night air can’t get us there I’m not so scared when I got you near

Lyrics: My love is cold now Shadows of a life Dripping from your eyes Slowly you take mine... You gotta get it together So we can be together... My love is faithless Won't you change your ways Cuz babe it's a cold truth I'm going down with you I'll never leave you I'm going down with you

Lyrics: Something in the way move Has me going I don't even know you Outside The party goes From the front lawn Into the road Everyone's out here and we're conversating and I've never felt such a feeling that I get with you Right now if you'd ask me I'd give you everything and Drop all my plans and go over the deep edge with you Dancing Like no-one's looking 'Till the party ends Feels like I've always known you Something In the way you move I can't take it back Everything is new Everyone's out here and we're conversating and I've never felt such a feeling that I get with you Right now if you'd ask me I'd give you everything and Drop all my plans and go over the deep edge with you

Lyrics: Walkin outta the station feeling like a ghost Late in the day I left when it started to get to be a little too much A little too much Maybe if I learned how to laugh I’d do better At getting things I don’t understand Like why we put the poison and trash in this water Why we try so hard to forget One foot follows the other like it knows where it’s been I can’t wait to discover all the places I’m looking into Maybe if I learned how to scream I’d do better At saying things the way that mean Like why we’re dropping bombs and destroying each other Acting like we wipe our hands clean Looking for a courage that’s stupid in numbers We do it just to feel alive Give a man a suit and he’s still a big robber We pay him more to nickel and dime Walking up on a stranger and I give him a nod Sometimes there can be danger in the friendliest face we turn on You could be a friend or a foe or a brother I could say I don’t have the time Maybe if I learned how to punch I’d do better At staying up and staying alive I wonder bout the drugs that we take Bodies that are pumping with love I wonder bout the paper we trade Money that is stronger than blood

Lyrics: Every time I said I’d never do this again I really meant it then But every time these same old patterns took the win and I got lost on my back Look in your eyes Apologize I’m on a mission I’m sorry it happened The way that it happened Every time I say I wanna turn this around and make it better now Never mean to bring us crashing back to the ground and getting lost on the way It happened twice No it was a hundred times Does it make a difference I wanna stay on your good side but I barely know mine I’m on a mission To get through this day Everyday ...

Lyrics: Four stars I made a wish on four stars On four nights, since we met Monday through yesterday And tonight I’ll tonight I’ll do it over again And tomorrow I’ll be out there taking my chances Oh It’s barely been a week But I’m so scared it’s just a dream I can’t deny this way I’m feeling So I’m wishing it’s the real thing Don’t wake me up if it’s just a dream If it’s just a dream I’d rather sleep Four stars I made a wish cuz This can’t be real You must be some kind of phantom Of my imagination Well tonight I’ll do it over again And tomorrow I’ll be out there taking my chances Oh It’s just to good to be true Can’t believe I finally found you I hope we make it through So I’m wishing for the real thing Don’t wake me up if it’s just a dream If it’s just a dream I’d rather sleep

Lyrics: I was driving on a cool day When some guy raced by in the other lane With his road rage, he had the angriest face Funny thing, I was going 70 in a 60 mile zone If that's slow for him, what kinda hurry was he in? Started raining, just a drizzle, when I noticed The gas was getting low Found myself at exit sixty one A little town Rocky Oh Rocky With one gas station Where people still have patience Rocky You don't need a reservation To have a laid back conversation And take it slow Took a brief rest At a park bench When a woman stopped to say hello Found ourselves telling stories and jokes Oh Rocky With one gas station Where people still have patience Rocky You don't need a reservation To have a laid back conversation And take it slow Oh Rocky It's sweet Oasis Everybody's waving to say hello Rocky You don't have to worry No one's in a hurry You can take it slow

LYRICS: Over I'm over this fight Could be the hundredth last time... When you see the thing that's following you Do you run away or run straight through? These habits are having their way with me Like I'm water on wires Powerless in the fire Chasing me... When you see the thing that's following you Do you run away no you run straight through. These habits keep having their way with me Like I'm water on wires Powerless in the fire Chasing me Oh it's just me... Over It's over for good Isn't it time when I know I should?

about

Hello!

Welcome to my song journal, where every month I will record and release a demo :)

Just like the free stream of thought in a personal journal, these songs will reflect the fluid process of creating art and music each month without the limitations of trying to fit into a specific style. They may be less polished than the official album releases, because each month I am learning something new and trying out different ideas with my singing, guitar playing, and production. These will all be free downloads, but any purchases are greatly appreciated and will help me to continue making music!

In addition to finding the journal here on bandcamp, I will also be adding them to a YouTube playlist on 'The Rungs' channel.

Hope you enjoy, thank you for listening,

~mandy
